Upcoming Events Tuesday, September 28, 2016 Lorane Picture Day Hot Topics Math – In math this week we will practice counting forward and backward, from 1 to 30. They will combine and compare two quantities to see which is larger, We will also solve and record solutions for addition story problems. Fundations – This is Unit 1, Week 3. This week we will continue reviewing the letters listed above as well as review the following letters; k, i, h, v, w, z, q, y, and x. Scholastic Online Code: HZZ2K NEWS Team of the Week – Congratulations to GREEN team for earning the most tallies by working together as a team. Way to go!!!!  Exercise Club – 1st Graders may go to the gym at 8:50am on Thursday and Friday mornings. They will do a variety of exercise games and activities. Students should go to the gym immediately after getting off the bus or being dropped off at school. Math Home Folder – Your child will be bringing a folder home for storing math materials at home. Please keep this folder in a special place because they will use it for other games this school year. Writing - Students will hear a story called: Farmer Duck. We will discuss the different ways the animals helped one another throughout the story. Students will begin to write sentences using the prompt, “I help when I…” I will focus on having the children right from left to right and leave spaces between words. Their work will be edited and sent home for you to see.
