Day 1 - Visit the USSNC Battleship Explore the USS North Carolina above and below deck Discover the ship’s role in the US victory in WWII

Fort Caswell Coastal Science and History Adventures 248 acres of historic sites, salt marsh, maritime forest and beach Located on the northeastern end of Oak Island, at the mouth of the Cape Fear River
Coastal Environmental Stewardship Programs We seek to help students better understand and respect the natural world. Through our hands-on outdoor teaching, we are creating awareness and a sense of responsibility to care for and preserve our environment.
Day 1 Activities Students will participate in two hands-on educational day programs Tide and Dune Exploration Estuary Exploration

Day 2 – Fort Fisher Buses board Southport-Fort Fisher ferry and cross Cape Fear River
Visit the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher

Visit the Fort Fisher Civil War Park Students will guided through the Civil War fort and museum
Depart Fort Fisher mid-afternoon Rest stop in route Arrive at school approximately 6:00 PM
