Writing a Strong Conclusion Paragraph The finishing touches on our essays

What is a conclusion paragraph? A conclusion paragraph is the last paragraph of an essay. In this paragraph, you have to answer the question of “So what?” You have given your reader lots of information. What do you want them to know or do after finishing your essay?

How to start a conclusion paragraph: Since we are beginning with your first concluding paragraph, we will begin by using the words In conclusion, To sum it up, or For these reasons,. Then, we add in our thesis statement from our introduction paragraph. In conclusion,… (In conclusion, sneakers are clearly the most comfortable shoes.) To sum it up, … (To sum it up, sneakers are clearly the most comfortable shoes.) For these reasons, … (For these reasons, sneakers are clearly the most comfortable shoes.)

What next? There are a few ways you could continue your paragraph.. Summarize what you have said. Sneakers offer lots of cushioning which protects your feet, lace up and fit your feet properly, and allow air to get into your feet which helps cool them off. Encourage people to act! So go out and tell your friends, your family, and your teachers, that you will refuse to wear any shoes other than sneakers! Try to convince the reader one last time. The point is, buy shoes that fit you well because you’ll feel better about yourself during your day.

More examples Get Emotional I simply will not wear any other shoe anymore! It’s time that I took care of my feet, and let them feel good at the end of the day! Use a story My grandfather walks two miles every day. One day, I hope to be able to walk that distance just like him. Wearing sneakers will help me make sure that my feet stay in good shape.

End it on a high note! Readers like seeing that there is a solution or happiness at the end. Wearing sneakers to work will let me feel better at the end of the day, and help me enjoy working with my students even more!

Final example In conclusion, sneakers are clearly the most comfortable shoes. So go out and tell your friends, your family, and your teachers, that you will refuse to wear any shoes other than sneakers! Wearing sneakers to work will let you feel better at the end of the day, and help you enjoy going to work even more!
