Course Assessment – Higher Component 1 – Question Paper 1: Reading and Directed Writing 50 marks Component 2 – Question Paper 2: Listening and Writing 20 marks Component 3 – Performance: Talking 30 marks Total: 100 marks

Course Assessment – Higher Component 1 – Question Paper 1: Reading and Directed Writing 50 marks Reading: 1 text, questions inc. overall purpose question 20 marks Translation: 10 marks Directed Writing: 120-150 words / 150-180 Chinese characters from 1 of 2 scenarios: 4 bullet points 10 marks

Course Assessment – Higher Component 2 – Question Paper 2: Listening and Writing 30 marks Listening: one monologue, final question supported overall purpose 8 marks one conversation 12 marks Texts linked thematically based on context not sampled in Reading Writing: 120-150 words 2/3 questions in the modern language 10 marks

Course Assessment – Higher Component 3 – Performance: Talking 30 marks Presentation 10 marks Conversation 15 marks Ability to sustain a conversation 5 marks
