Amber Matthews Personal Dashboard Personal Dashboard & KPI’s are being established to eliminate the need for anticonvulsants (seizure medication) by following the set KPI’s listed in this presentation and following the set goals and benchmarks determined by myself and my Neurologist.

KPI’s Key Performance Indicators are used to measure performance and provide value in your work Creating KPI’s will help organizations and individuals reach specific goals Setting KPI’s will help with making quality improvements as well as determining when a KPI’s is not being met KPI can be defined as a set of quantifiable measures that a company/organization or industry will use to gauge and or compare performance. This is in terms of meeting strategic and operational goals. KPIs will vary between companies/organizations, depending on their priorities or performance criteria for a successful future Define KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) Why do organizations utilize KPI’s

Amber’s Personal KPI’s 1) Primary KPI is to live my life without being on seizure precautionary medication called anticonvulsants To help facilitate this process I have done research on how to facilitate this process which will be part of my continued KPI’s 2) Increase exercise and endurance training to maintain a healthy mind and body 3) Improve Healthy eating habits, monitoring calorie intake, calories burned, and portion control 4) Maintain a healthy weight 5) Reduce stress and anxiety related to work and school 6) Increase water consumption, decrease caffeine & no alcohol 7) Focusing on 8 hours of sleep each night to allow the body to rest Personal KPI’s

Amber’s Strategy Dedicate 1 hour a day to exercise: Treadmill, Walking, DVD workouts & free weights (This will allow your mind to focus on something other than personal health issues and stress with work, school or family) This helps clear my mind. Healthy eating habits: Increase fruits, vegetables, calorie control (1200 or less), portion control, eating prepared meals at home, low sugar, minimal carbohydrates, high fiber and high protein foods. *Focus on calories consumed and calories burned daily Maintain Weight: Maintaining a healthy weight is part of my journey. You will see in my graphs I have lost weight as part of my KPI and personal goal Reduce Stress & Anxiety: Continue with exercise, reading, & writing when I feel anxious. Remind myself to focus on one thing at a time. Water/Caffeine/Alcohol: Increase water consumption from 2 liters to 3 liters per day, 1 coffee per day (caffeine) and removed all alcohol from my life. Sleep: Creating a schedule for myself of going to bed at the same time each night and waking up at the same time each day for balance and rejuvenation KPI’s Strategies to achieve overall goal

Goals Goal 1: Goal Weight of 125.0 pounds has been met Goal 2: Exercising 1 hour a day for past 30 days and still continuing Goal 3: Healthy eating has been much easier since I became vegetarian in October 2015 and helps with making better choices for myself. Goal 4: Eating habits amongst exercising, calorie intake counts and calories burned, and limiting sugar has been successful Goal 5: Maintaining healthy weight has been met and continually striving daily Goal 6: Reading and Writing during stressful encounters and anxiety attacks Goal 7: Increase to 3 liters of water daily. 1 cup of coffee. No alcohol Goal 8: Sleeping 8 consistent hours Goals to help achieve KPI’s and help reduce seizure medication

Benchmarks Maintain current weight of 125.0 Exercise 45-60 minutes minimum per day Ensure at least 2 liters of water consumption up to 3 liters is consumed per day Ensure only 1 cup of caffeine per day No Alcohol Keeping stress and anxiety to bare minimum Focus on completing one course at a time Sleeping 8 hours daily Benchmarks to help visualize strengths or when I am not meeting my goals or benchmark of minimum exercise, weight, and etc.

Amber’s Ultimate Goal My ultimate goal is to be living a healthy, happy, seizure free lifestyle. The goal is to eliminate the need to take 1500 mg of Anticonvulsants daily. This will allow me to get back to my normal lifestyle that I have not been living in over 6 years. The KPI’s, Goals & Benchmarks that I have set for myself is a step-by-step guide at how to reduce seizure auras from occurring. I do not have epilepsy so the medication was being introduced as a measure to keep me safe. I have been seizure free for 5 years but the Neurologist would like to keep me on them for precautionary measures. What I am trying to accomplish is a complete overview of my lifestyle and what has changed and improved since the seizure happened. Lastly, the KPI’s, Goals, & Benchmarks are created based upon a lifestyle I am now living. This is not a lifestyle I lived 6 years ago. I have just started this data in hopes to prove to my Neurologist that perhaps cutting the dosage back is at least a start. Ultimate Goal: Healthy Lifestyle and eliminating the need for anticonvulsants
