Reading Your child will learn reading skills during Guided reading sessions in class. To encourage the children to read for pleasure we are celebrating reading each week in a ‘Reading Rocks’ assembly and once a month will take part in buddy reading. These are skills which will then be practiced at home. We want children to enjoy reading and sharing books with you!

PE Monday Mile – trainers need to be worn. Wednesday – PE indoors (dance and gymnastics) Thursday – Games outdoors PE kits needs to be in school everyday Earrings need to be removed for all PE sessions.

Prefects All the children in the class have been given prefect responsibilities and have begun with a very positive attitude. The younger children love to interact with them and they feel happy and safe in the company of Year 6 children.

Homework Homework will consist of 2 math tasks, 1 literacy and some week they will be given a topic or geography task. Spellings will be given out on at the beginning of a half term. Tests will be on a Monday. Learning logs will be set once a half term and children will have two weeks to complete their learning logs. Reading-please encourage your children to read daily and ask them to record this in their School Home Liaison Book Times tables –A quick recall of times table facts up to 12 x 12 is very important if your child doesn’t know them these need to be practiced daily.
