Maybe your first day on campus, your first day of class, your first publication, getting the tenure and promotion letter, make belief (just make up a story), etc. You have a story to tell around that moment? Reflect on that moment for 2-3 minutes and then find a partner to share the story!

Story Feedback:

Mark Twain quotes this from a letter that Script Writing Mark Twain quotes this from a letter that he wrote to a friend: “Forgive me, this is a long letter. I would have written you a short letter, but I didn’t have the time.”

Tips on Script Writing Informal/conversation style of writing script Show vs. Tell Break story into small sections When you record the script, remember: To talk slower than your normal pace Uses pauses to emphasize aspects of the story Sometimes silence can speak more than words can

Explicit vs Implicit Consider using explicit images when the specifics of the photo (subject, time, place…) are necessary to establish context Consider using implicit images when emotion or insight are being established Consider using a photo instead of stating the obvious in your script.

Digital Storytelling as Tool Intergenerational collaboration, and Student engagement in aging research and education in general Enhancing social connectedness among older adults Team-Building Leadership Practically in Any Sphere
