Veneering & Marquetry    

Veneering is the layering of thin slices of timber (example, plywood) Veneering is the layering of thin slices of timber (example, plywood).   Using motifs, bandings and figured grain veneer, beautiful patterns can be achieved

Marquetry is a form of timber inlay, it differs to the extent that the whole surface is usually covered with a veneer like design cut from couloured veneers. The designs may be patterned or based on pictorial motifs such as flowers, fruit, figures, buildings e.t.c.
