DREAMING AGAIN IN DINAJPUR Autumn 2017

One of the skills LAMB’s training gives is how groups can help support their community and help solve problems. Lovely, from Dinajpur, experienced firsthand how valuable this training is.

When she was in third grade, her father passed away suddenly When she was in third grade, her father passed away suddenly. The loss brought grief, but also poverty and hardship. In order to survive, Lovely had to stop going to school and go to work with her mother instead.

‘I want to go school but due to my father’s sudden death I have to work with my mother for our survival. …If I got the opportunity, I will continue my study.’ Lovely

When the local Bible Study group heard about Lovely’s situation, they were keen to help. They helped arrange for her to study at a local hostel and offered to pay her school fees too. Lovely suggested the hostel as somewhere that she could study, the Bible Study group contacted the hostel and arranged for Lovely to have a place. They are also paying all her fees

‘I am very happy and grateful to the bible study group ‘I am very happy and grateful to the bible study group. Without their support my mother had no ability to continue my education. Once I have finished my education I would also like to help others to continue studying.’ Lovely has settled in, she is enjoying studying at her new school and gets on well with the other girls in her class. PRAYER For the Bible study group in Dinajpur as they identify other ways to support their community. Pray they will be able to help bring lasting change for their community.

PRAYER For Lovely and her mother, that this new opportunity to learn brings real blessings. Pray too that Lovely’s relationships with other children at the hostel, will continue to grow.
