STEP UP BEHAVIOUR LEVELS WALLERAWANG PUBLIC SCHOOL

CLASSROOM LEVELS Everyday, we all start school with our name on the GREEN LEVEL – 3 R’s 1 Green Tick at end of day Be Ready to Listen and Learn – show 5 L’s Be Respectful – treat others the way you want to be treated Be Responsible – make good choices   Everyday, we all start school with our name on the GREEN LEVEL

If we are respectful, responsible and ready to learn we will stay on the green level and at the end of each day we will get a green tick on our card.  We can still earn more green ticks from teachers for showing positive behaviour. 

BLUE LEVEL – Verbal Warning Not ready to listen and learn Not being respectful Not being responsible If we break school or classroom rules, then we may receive a warning from our teacher. Our name will then be moved into the BLUE LEVEL.

We will then need to fix up our behaviour so that we can move back to the GREEN LEVEL. If we continue to make poor choices then our name will be moved to the ORANGE LEVEL

ORANGE LEVEL – Time Out in Classroom / Buddy Class Time out to reflect on behaviour Show your teacher the 3 R’s. This means that we will need to have some time out of the lesson to try to think about our behaviour and what we should be doing. Our teacher may send us to a quiet place in the classroom or to another classroom for a set amount of time. When we come back to the lesson we need to be showing GREEN LEVEL behaviour or we will get a consequence. 

RED LEVEL – Consequences for Behaviour Red Cross Time in the Reflection Room I will need to talk to someone about how I can improve my behaviour  If our name is placed in the RED LEVEL then we will receive a Red Cross  on our card and will spend lunchtime in the Reflection Room to talk about our behaviour with a teacher. We will also need to take a note home to our parents to let them know what has happened.

MAINTAINING POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR Tick Charts    ROCKY RHODES  10 15 20 25 AT GREEN LEVEL MAINTAINING POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR  * RED CARD We will also have to cross out two Green Ticks from our card. This means that we will have to work harder to get to the next level.

MAINTAINING POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR    ROCKY RHODES  10 15 20 25 AT GREEN LEVEL MAINTAINING POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR  RED CARD * If we get four red crosses we will have to take home a Red Card. We will also have to spend two days in the Reflection Room. We will lose Green Ticks and may even need to drop back to the RED LEVEL…………

Red Cards Sometimes, we may even be given a Red Card straight away for our behaviour, especially if we are violent, abusive or acting dangerously. Wallerawang Public School Red Card Given to   Teacher: ___________________ Date issued: __________________ Parent’s Signature: _____________________

If we get two Red Cards at GREEN LEVEL, then we will have to drop to RED LEVEL, no matter how many green ticks we have. Our parents will be called in for a meeting. At other levels, we only need one Red Card or Even Red Crosses to drop back……. Sometimes, if our behaviour is extremely disruptive or violent we may get a suspension. Teachers, Executive Staff and our Parents will have to have a meeting. This is very serious……

Exceptional Level – Consistent Outstanding Behaviour 2 Green Ticks Following all school rules Being an outstanding role model Being a great school citizen Sometimes, when our behaviour is consistently outstanding, our teacher will move our name into the EXCEPTIONAL LEVEL. This means that we will get two Green Ticks on our card at the end of each day. We can still get other Green Ticks for doing great things.

Step Up Levels We want to get as many Green Ticks as we can so that we can work through our POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR LEVELS  We don’t want to get Red Crosses or Red Cards.  These take away Green Ticks and mean that we get consequences for negative behaviour.

STEP UP LEVELS If we maintain positive behaviour, follow school, playground and classroom rules and be great school citizens then we will move through the Level System. Positive behaviour means that we move up We will all start the school year on the GREEN LEVEL. Negative behaviour means that we will move down
