Aligning Behavioural issues with the Practice TARP-TSM Harmony Aligning Behavioural issues with the Practice Hamilton Moemi HR Leader

Purpose of aligning behaviour TARP- TSM Harmony Purpose of aligning behaviour Creation of new culture of saying “if you cannot mine safely, you will be out of business soon” It is to create a balance between production and safety Change the mindset of instructional communication to interactive communication Create a culture of active listening

TARP- TSM Harmony Process A sample of employees were identified and interviewed Concerns about implementation were raised(antecedents) and the desired behavior plan was developed Mental model report was formulated The behavioral duties and training lesson plan was developed, because the training plan needed to address concerns raised by employees

TARP- TSM Harmony Progress 20 stoping and 13 Development crews have undergone TARP training TARP system includes a computer simulation system were employees are measured on their reaction in hazard identification. Measurement audit was conducted prior the team undergoing TARP training and after the TARP training

TARP-TSM Harmony LEADERS LEAD BY EXAMPLE Leaders cannot demand safe production and do the opposite of the under-mentioned When the team apply TSM correctly provide immediate, positive and certain feedback (thank them, recognize, reward etc) Strictly no blame if panels are stopped with the TSM process If false alarms - do not react negatively. Use it as a learning experience. (coaching) Always demonstrate a positive attitude.
