HARMONY

harmony “agreement”; two or more pitches sung or played at the same time making the music thicker in its sound

interval the distance between two different pitches

sharp to raise the pitch a half step

flat to lower the pitch a half step

natural the natural state of the note, it isn’t sharp nor flat

key signature tells the performer what notes are to be raised, flattened, and/or natural at any given point within the music

whole step distance of two half steps in the same direction

half step smallest distance between pitches above or below another pitch

chord three or more pitches (notes) sounding at the same time
