STEM Academy Grades 7 & 8 Students have the same school counselor for grades 7 & 8. The counselor loops with the class. School counselors work with students individually, in small groups and in large group settings. School counselors work with students in class settings to develop executive functioning skills, social skills and offering support to students in need.

Exploration & Discovery Day ‘17 Students participated in four hands-on workshops facilitated by presenters in a wide variety of career fields. This event is designed to support the themes introduced in school counseling lessons - including the diversity of careers already in existence as well as the way future jobs and the world of work are evolving. Emphasis on how middle school classes are already preparing students for their futures (even in careers that may not exist yet) through the development of academic & workplace skills.
Transition to High School Grade 8 School Counselor works closely with Freshman Counselor to ensure a smooth transition into high school. Assisting students and parents in choosing courses through group and individually meetings. “Get To Know the High School” Day for students and Night for families. Attending transition meetings for students with educational plans.
