Year 11 Biology Currently taught by Mrs Lomax and Dr McIlroy

The year ahead - AS90929 AS B1.5 Demonstrate understanding of biological ideas relating to a mammal as a consumer (Covers digestive, circulatory and respiratory systems, differences between herbivores/carnivores) External – 3 Credits

AS90926 AS B1.2 Report on a biological issue - gastric bypass (research the biology of a gastric bypass and the issue of whether the government or obese person should pay for the procedure) Internal – 3 credits

The year ahead - AS91155 AS B2.3 - Demonstrate understanding of adaptation of plants or animals to their way of life (Comparing the gas exchange systems of insects, fish and mammals) Internal – 3 credits

The year ahead - AS90927 AS B1.3 Demonstrate understanding of biological ideas relating to micro-organisms (study of bacteria fungi and viruses, their life processes, how they are helpful and harmful and how our immune system works) External – 4 credits

Total = 10 internal + 7 external AS90925 AS1.1 - Carry out a practical investigation in a biological context, with direction Internal – 4 credits Total = 10 internal + 7 external = 17 credits (14 @ level 1, 3 @ level 2)
