Economic Growth Presentation

Statistical analysis by Bernard and Busse Economic Growth Presentation Statistical analysis by Bernard and Busse ㅇ Compare which brings more medals to country between population and income per capita. Result Population is a bit important effect than income per capita. - Doubling a country’s popluation makes raise its share of Olympic medals by 1.1%, while doubling a country’s level of income per capita will raise its share of Olympic medals by 1.0%. - Because these effects are so similar to compare, a country’s total GDP (the product of GDP per capita * total population) is most important for nation to win a lot of medals.

After? Applying to projection of future population Economic Growth Presentation Applying to projection of future population If the relative incomes of countries are constant and only their shares of world population changed , then the share of world GDP produced in the currently developed countries will fall. The share of Olympic medals of developed countries will drop. After?

1 2 Two factors that Amplifying this effect Economic Growth Presentation Two factors that Amplifying this effect 1 The countries with slowly growing population will also make more population of elder people Ex) Pakistan population will be three times as many as Japan in the future, also more than four times as many 20-year-olds 2 Income per capita of Poorer countries will grow faster and catch up rich countries economically.

Thank You !
