Solar Eclipse August 21st, 2017 Our objective today is to share the excitement about the solar eclipse and how to enjoy it safely. Daniel check your wording!  Create a good introductory slide. Thanks mrs. Pack :)

WHEN? The first visible signs of the eclipse will begin around 11:58 am. The totality will begin around 1:28 and will last less than 2 minutes. The last signs of the eclipse will be around 2:55.  (Times are approximate because it depends on exactly where you are)

Diamond effect: Safety: How it happens: It is very important you protect your eyes. If you look at the eclipses with your bare eyes it can cause permanent damage. A diamond ring effect is where it looks like you see a diamond ring because of the light from the sun piercing the edges of the moon. It has been over 500 years and will be 500 more years before it will in our location. We know that the moon's shadow completely blocks the sun during a total solar eclipse.
