THE SOLUTION PERGAMON aims to support the creative industries in the adoption of a technology framework for the creation of pervasive serious games. THE NEED An ICT solution to develop serious games integrated with personalized user assistance by means of a Virtual Coach

Objectives Implementation and piloting of a gaming framework that aids creative SME’s to effectively and efficiently develop serious games Integration of a ‘virtual coach’ to personalise and motivate the gaming experience Integration of sensor devices into the gaming platform Connecting creative SMEs with business networks operating in serious games Facilitating new alliances between creative SMEs and emergent technology providers

Project output a prototype of a pervasive game that promotes the management of chronic disease using sensors within gameplay a personal coach to give bespoke feedback to players

Grifo multimedia Grifo multimedia is coordinating the project. They lead the design of the architecture of the PERGAMON framework.

University of Twente They are in charge of developing the Virtual Coach and integrating it within the PERGAMON framework

A.i. Solve They lead the design and development of the data analyser and sensor network, and of the intelligent game guide that acts as a supporting tool for the user

Coventry University Coventry University is leading the dissemination of the project’s outputs. The University’s Serious Games Institute is advising on the design and evaluation of the PERGAMON Serious Game A series of stakeholder workshops are being delivered over the course of the project (starting with Games for Health conference [Oct 2015] and GALA conference [Dec 2015]) A conference will be held at the end of the project to share all of the findings and outputs
