Presented by Makenzie Cleary  Perky Penguins Presented by Makenzie Cleary 

I love penguins! Penguins are so cute! They are one of my favorite animals. I’ve always wanted a penguin when I was little. I hope you enjoy my presentation! 

Penguins are flightless birds

There are 18 different types of penguins

Penguins mostly live in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile, and Peru

The largest penguin is the Emperor penguin

The smallest penguin is a Fairy penguin

Penguins are black and white for a reason They are black and white because when they are swimming predators cant spot them from above, because they blend in with the dark waters. When predators are swimming below them the penguins blend in with the sunny surface.

A penguin can lose half it’s body wait by molting Molting is a process of losing old feathers and growing new ones.

Penguins won’t swim in warm waters, they only swim in the cold Antarctic ocean

Penguins’ feathers are very small and waterproof

Penguins spend more than two-thirds of their life in water

Works Cited I found my information from: Nature’s Children series: Penguins by Merebeth Switzer. My pictures are from www.google.com/images

The End! Thank you so much for watching my presentation on penguins!!!! I hope you have learned a lot about penguins that you didn’t know before!
