Definition A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with only one set of opposite sides parallel. The parallel sides are called the bases, the non-parallel sides are the legs base leg leg base

Isosceles Trapezoid A trapezoid where the legs are congruent. Theorem:The base angles of an isosceles trapezoids are congruent.

Median of a trapezoid The line connecting the midpoints of the legs. The median is parallel to the bases. It is the average of the base lengths.
