FACILITIES

FACILITIES YEAR 2 PRIORITY 1 San Benito CISD will utilize the efficiency audit, prioritize reported items and enlist the Maintenance and Energy departments to target and complete tasks addressed. YEAR 2 GOAL FA.1.2 Year 2 Goal: Continue unfinished goals and target new ones. (Reference: FA.1.1 Year 1 Goal: Develop goals, assess needs, and implement changes.) STATUS (OCTOBER 2017) The district roof analysis is currently in progress. Dr. Cash Chiller project completed Summer of 2017. Berta Cabaza MS Cafeteria Air Handler change-out completed. Fred Booth Elementary Administration AHU and Condenser change-out completed. Inspections of all playgrounds are being conducted on a monthly basis. Three campus playgrounds have been identified for replacements, Dr. Cash, La Paloma and Sullivan Elementary. Upgrade for Landrum Elementary Cafeteria DX System. Chiller at Dr. Garza (equipment has been received) pending installation November 2017. Dr. Garza Elementary roofing project was completed Spring of 2017.

FACILITIES YEAR 2 PRIORITY 1 CONTINUATION STATUS (OCTOBER 2017) Continued An RFP was issued for the 2017-2018 school year for the district wide pest control management plan. (Pending board approval.) San Benito High School bleachers have been ordered and will be replaced in December 2017. Bobby Morrow Stadium Scoreboard screen (electronic components) are scheduled to be completed October 2017. Bobby Morrow Stadium field (turf) will be replaced in December 2017. (Pending board approval) PRC Complex has been relocated to VMA. Campus upgrades were done during the summer to consist of, flooring, painting, and waxing. NEXT STEPS Install A/C equipment at Dr. Garza Jr. Elementary and Landrum Elementary Fall of 2017. Installation of the playgrounds at 3 elementary schools, Dr. Cash, La Paloma and Sullivan Elementary. (Pending board approval) Will issue RFP for canopy requests for San Benito High School, Ed Downs Elementary, Sullivan Elementary and Frank Roberts Elementary. Evaluate fencing needs at VMA and Dr. Garza Elementary. Will use the Long range Facilities report once completed to plan future district needs.

FACILITIES YEAR 2 PRIORITY 2 San Benito CISD will develop a detailed comprehensive long range plan, for the future development and renovation of the campus / district facilities and to provide a 21st Century learning space that ensures student readiness for higher education. Year 2 GOAL FA.2.2 Year 2 Goal: Stakeholders shall begin to monitor the Facilities plans for the District. STATUS (OCTOBER 2017) Continue to maintain the web page to showcase completed projects of the Buildings & Grounds and Construction & Energy departments on the San Benito CISD Website. FACILITIES YEAR 2 PRIORITY 2 CONTINUATION NEXT STEPS Continue development of a long range District Facilities plan. Determine the disposal or removal of portables that were being used by PRC. Replace switchboard at San Benito High School Proceed with LED lighting improvements at Dr. Garza and La Encantada elementary schools. Research possibilities of redesigning the Air Conditioning system at Miller Jordan MS D-Wing. Replacement of the Oscar De La Fuente chiller Summer of 2018. Determine date for a district surplus auction or sale. Replace white boards at San Benito High School. Starting October 2017.

FACILITIES YEAR 2 PRIORITY 3 San Benito CISD will expand the quality of technology infrastructure to accommodate emerging technologies that support academic innovation and technology integration into teaching and learning to prepare students for the 21st Century. YEAR 2 GOAL FA.3.2 Year 2 Goal: Develop a budget to address needs. STATUS (OCTOBER 2017) Wireless APs have been installed in the following campuses: La Paloma, La Encantada, Dr. Garza, Frank Roberts, Amador, DH, JJAEP, Dr. Cash, Ed Downs, ODLF, Landrum, Frank Roberts, Miller Jordan, Dr. Cash, PRC/RGV Youth, Admin, Angela Leal, Gateway and UTEX Replaced the previous web content filter with iboss Upgraded wireless security to 802.1X Enterprise Purchased and implemented a mobile device management system, Meraki Systems Manager Purchased Microsoft Office and Server Software licensing Budget in the 2017-2018 year Replace existing telephone system with VoIP Cisco telephone system Microsoft Exchange and AD migration from 2010 to 2016 Network cabling for new wireless access points User Account Management, IAM, including SSO (Single Sign On)

FACILITIES YEAR 2 PRIORITY 3 CONTINUATION NEXT STEPS Continue the development of the three year plan to purchase hardware and software identified during the needs assessment based on priority. Wireless controllers Wireless access points and licensing UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies) for all campuses Core switch upgrade for 9 campuses (Pending E-rate Year 2016 funding) Virtual Server (VMWare) Environment and Licensing Network cabling – replace Cat 5 cabling Power management (generator for Administration building)

FACILITIES YEAR 2 PRIORITY 4 San Benito CISD will combine the efforts of the Maintenance/Energy departments to develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan. YEAR 2 GOAL FA.4.2 Year 2 Goal: Budget funds to replace outdated equipment. STATUS (OCTOBER 2017) Budget in the 2017-2018 year Tractor shredder and bucket Glass Bead Sandblaster Two Lawnmowers Districtwide IPM (Integrated Pest Management) System Switchboard for San Benito High School LED Lighting for two campuses, La Encantada and Dr. Garza Elementary Fresh Air Intake Air Handler replacements at three campuses, VMA, Oscar De La Fuente, and Riverside R22 Chiller at Oscar De La Fuente NEXT STEPS Assess equipment and departmental needs for next budget year. Acquire quotes for the replacement of the R22 Chiller at VMA. Acquire quotes for fencing at Dr. Garza and VMA. Acquire quotes to continue vehicle replacement plan.

FACILITIES YEAR 2 PRIORITY 5 FA.P5: San Benito CISD will improve the functionality, energy efficiency and security of all campuses and district facilities. YEAR 2 GOAL FA.5.2 Year 2 Goal: Reduce energy and water consumption. STATUS (OCTOBER 2017) Full Surveillance system implementation has been completed for Berta Cabaza MS and VMA Ag Barn. (Prior Year Goal) Phase I has been completed for Surveillance cameras at the following locations: San Benito High School, VMA, Miller Jordan MS. (Phase I consists of replacing all DVRs to IP servers) (Prior Year Goal) Replaced flush valves and shower heads and will continue the replacements as needed. Verified sprinkler timers. Verifying schedules for all air conditioning equipment for maximum efficiency. NEXT STEPS LED lighting improvements at Dr. Garza and La Encantada elementary schools. Replace low flow toilets. Review different possibilities on water conservation. Review facility report once completed for potential energy reduction.
