First machine concept First machine concept was assuming machine: Fully programmable (reeling speed, changeable pitch, etc.) Motor powered

First concept machine cost estimation Cost estimation of the mentioned machine: CERN – 78.5 kCHF Mechanics (materials and manufacturing) – 7.5 kCHF Control system (estimation provided by J. Lendaro): Material cost – 8 kCHF Production cost – 3 kCHF Control system development – 60 kCHF (at least 6 months of work for fellow) Mobac (German company) – 20 kCHF Showmark (USA company) – at least 20 kCHF + tax Final conclusion – we can not afford it!

New machine concept vs old one Despite significant change compare to the first conception, we still provide: Possibility to install variable spools Adjustable reeling pitch and width Accuracy +/- few mm Cutting machine integrated Fast and easy to use Upgradable Integrated display Possibility to reel certain length of the fibre 2 programs: Reeling program Measurement program Adjustable reeling speed Length measurement Anti-slipping detector Preload system New concept machine disadvantages: Not changeable pitch (it will be changing automatically) Sinusoidal speed of a pitch mechanism Every change of a spool size extort change of a crankshaft (to be explained)
