Honors World History April 28th, 2017

Middle Ages DBQ Today with a partner or individually (not a group) you will be working on document based questions from the Middle Ages Your goal: to get through 6 of the documents Answers should all be in complete sentences You will ultimately be determining: Which is the best title for the time period commonly known as the Middle Ages? -A Dark Age? -An Age of Feudalism? -An Age of Faith? -A Golden Age?

Middle Ages DBQ On the back of your packets, please copy down the following definitions: The Dark Ages- emphasizes the cultural and economic deterioration that supposedly occurred in Western Europe following fall of Rome. The period is characterized by a relative scarcity of historical and other written records at least for some areas of Europe, rendering it obscure to historians. The Age of Feudalism- a loosely organized system of government in which local lords governed their own lands but owed military service and other support to a greater lord. The Age of Faith- (1): belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2): belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion The Golden Age – a period of great cultural achievement

You will have the remainder of the period to get started on your documents; as you go through each you should start thinking about which title you believe fits the Medieval period We will continue on Monday Homework: 6 of the Middle Ages DBQ documents should be done for Monday
