Presentation transcript:

s 1. I am going to Old Parliament House with my class. This is what it looks like.

3. We will meet our presenter or presenters 3. We will meet our presenter or presenters. They might be wearing white gloves. 2. First we go to the School Entry.

5. We will go to the Orientation Space, and sit on the colourful blocks. We all put on white gloves. We will keep the gloves on during our visit here. We wear the white gloves to stop the oils on our hands damaging the old furniture in the building. 4. We will walk through a long corridor and past the café. It sometimes smells like coffee.

6. Our presenter or presenters will welcome us to Old Parliament House and talk about what we are going to do. 7. We will listen, and I will put up my hand if I want to answer or ask a question.

8. After the Orientation Space, we will go up some stairs and into King’s Hall.

9. Next, we will go into an exhibition 9. Next, we will go into an exhibition. Our exhibition will be about Prime Ministers or Democracy. We will stop and listen to our presenter. 10. Then, we will get into small groups. Our teachers might help us do this.

11. We will work together and use swipe cards and touch screens to answer some questions. It’s really fun! 12. When our time using the touch screens is finished, we will take turns to tell our presenter what we have found out.

14. We will all help look after this special room by sitting carefully where the presenter tells us to. The seats are made of leather and can feel soft to sit in. It can feel special to sit in these important seats! 13. Next, it will be time for us to go into one of the special rooms where the politicians used to sit. Our presenter will take us into the big green or the big red room.

15. This room was made so that even if you whisper, people can hear you. I will use my inside voice to talk quietly. I can use my eyes to look around the room, and I can take photos if I bring a camera. I will put my hand up if I want to answer a question or read out a speech. 16. Some people in my class might get to dress up in a costume to read a speech.

17. When we have finished, we will follow our presenter or presenters back down the stairs. Then, we will take our gloves off and put them in a laundry basket. 18. We will leave the building by going down the front steps. Now it is time to say goodbye to Old Parliament House.
