INVERTEBRATES

INVERTEBRATES SPONGES

INVERTEBRATES They have many pores through which they communicate

INVERTEBRATES They eat through filtration.

INVERTEBRATES POLYPS AND MEDUSAS

INVERTEBRATES Polyps have the shape of a bag, they are joined by suction pads.

INVERTEBRATES Medusas (jellyfishes) are umbrella- shaped.

INVERTEBRATES They both eat meat (they are both carnivores). They both are marine creatures.

INVERTEBRATES SEGMENTED WORMS: ANNELIDS

INVERTEBRATES They are soft, long and segmented.

INVERTEBRATES They breathe through their skin.

INVERTEBRATES The most well known is the earthworm.

INVERTEBRATES MOLLUSKS

INVERTEBRATES Most of them are marine creatures

INVERTEBRATES They are soft-bodied animals and have a muscular foot.

INVERTEBRATES They have shells.

INVERTEBRATES The most well known are: snails with spiral-shells

INVERTEBRATES Mussels with two shells.

INVERTEBRATES Squid with thin internal shell.

INVERTEBRATES ARTHROPODS

INVERTEBRATES Main characteristics: They have a segmented body with head, thorax and abdomen.

A hard case covers the body that they mould to grow.

They have jointed limbs

INVERTEBRATES ARACHNIDS

INVERTEBRATES Arachnids include scorpions and spiders.

INVERTEBRATES The Arachnic's body is divided into two sections: cephalotorax and abdomen.

INVERTEBRATES Cephalotorax: it's derived from the fusion of the head and the torax. All Arachnids have eight legs.

INVERTEBRATES Abdomen: it isn't segmented and has silk glands to build a spider's web.

INVERTEBRATES Crustaceans

INVERTEBRATES They include crabs, lobsters and prawns.

INVERTEBRATES They have very hard exoskeleton and their body is divided into two sections: cephalotorax and abdomen.

INVERTEBRATES Cephalotorax with two pairs of anthenes and they usually have five pairs of legs.

INVERTEBRATES Abdomen is segmented with small legs.

INVERTEBRATES MYRIAPODS

INVERTEBRATES They include terrestrial Arthropods like millipides and centipedes.

INVERTEBRATES They have head and segmented body with a pair o two pairs of legs each segment.

INVERTEBRATES INSECTS

INVERTEBRATES They include: flies, butterflies, grasshoppers, ants, beetles and bees.

INVERTEBRATES The insect's body is divided into head, thorax and abdomen.

INVERTEBRATES The head has a pair of antennae.

INVERTEBRATES Thorax with three pairs of legs and usually with two pairs of wings.

INVERTEBRATES The abdomen is segmented without legs.

INVERTEBRATES Insects have metamorphosis.
