Remote Core Sites Corpus Christi, TX (Bay Area Medical Center) Conroe, TX (Conroe Regional Medical Center) Baytown, TX (San Jacinto Methodist Hospital) Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas A limited number of students (6-12) will be allowed to take their 3rd year at one of the remote sites. Indicate on your preference sheet if you’re interested. If these sites don’t fill with volunteers, they may be assigned.

3rd Year Elective or Primary Care Partnership It is your responsibility to schedule either the Core Primary Care Partnership or an Elective rotation in Year Three. Your Primary Care Partnership (PCP) must be in one of the following disciplines: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, or Pediatrics. It must be clinic based (ambulatory), and has to be with an approved preceptor off of an approved list. Subject Exam Score Details Scaling (NBME subject exams) 5th national percentile rank is scaled at a minimum passing score of 70 National average is scaled at 82 Scaling (NBOME subject exams) Very few schools use the NBOME subject exam Scaling based on performance of prior classes Worth 25% of total clerkship grade First-time failure of subject exam constitutes an incomplete with a maximum score of 70 after remediation. Any subsequent failure of clerkship constitutes failure of the rotation.
Evaluations Evaluations are required at the end of each clerkship just like they’re required at the end of each course you take in years 1 and 2. Failure to complete evaluations could result in a non-professional conduct report.
