Is Your Life Fulfilling? Introduction Are you a success in this world? Do you feel fulfilled in life? Do you feel something is missing? Many discerning people experience such feelings of dissatisfaction; such feelings are not neces-sarily wrong. 3,000 years ago King Solomon had these feelings: Eccl. 1:1-11 In the end, Solomon found the ultimate and true meaning of life: Eccl. 12:13-14 Is Your Life Fulfilling?

Is Your Life Fulfilling? www.westsidecoc.org A relationship with God. A relationship with ourselves.   A relationship with our fellow man. Is Your Life Fulfilling? Ecclesiastes 1:1-11

Is Your Life Fulfilling? Relationship with God Our secular world is trying to erase the idea of God from our minds (e.g., New Atheists). They cannot provide satisfying answers for the origin of the Universe, the origin of life or the pursuit of a meaningful life. Materialists are dismissive and derisive of anyone who believes in the Creator. The “Big Bang” theory and the theory of evolution have very serious shortcomings recognized by many materialistic, atheistic scientists. Is Your Life Fulfilling?

Is Your Life Fulfilling? Relationship with God The heart of the argument in favor of God is the overwhelming evidence of design in the Universe. The notion the Universe popped into existence from nothing violates the most basic law of science: the Law of Causality. Materialists use the “magic wand” of “billions and billions of years” and “poof” a Universe appears; then “poof” life magically appears from lifeless, unintelligent molecules. I believe in an infinite being of incomprehensible power created the Universe, life and us! Rom. 1:20 Is Your Life Fulfilling?

Is Your Life Fulfilling? Relationship with God God requires us to believe “He is” AND “that He rewards those who diligently seek Him”: Heb. 11:6 Why? Because “God created man in His own image”: Gen. 1:27 Of all the fantastic things in the Universe; man is the pinnacle of God’s creation! God also created man to reflect His morality and goodness. But man shattered the bond between himself and God through sin: Gen. 3; Rom. 3:23 Is Your Life Fulfilling?

Is Your Life Fulfilling? Relationship with God The way to repair our relationship with God is only found in the Bible: Jn. 14:6 God forces no one to obey Him: Rom. 10:13; Rev. 22:17 Friendship with God is the only road leading to true fulfillment and lasting satisfaction: Matt. 11:28-30; Jn. 3:16 Only through His Son can our relationship with God be repaired and restored: Acts 2:47; Eph. 5:23; Col. 1:18-22 Only those in total submission to God can be saved: Lk. 9:23- 26 Is Your Life Fulfilling?

Relationship with self We must simultaneously repair our broken relationship with God and with self. Sin is hideous and separates us from God: Isa. 59:1-2 We must feel bad about ourselves before we can feel good about ourselves: Matt. 5:3-4 God calls us to live holy lives patterned after His Son: Rom. 8:29; 1 Pet. 1:14-15; Gal. 5:19-26 How could one possibly argue such a positively changed life cannot but help lead to peace of mind and fulfillment? Phil. 4:7 This new life is not gained without effort: Phil. 2:12; 2 Pet. 1:9; Heb. 6:1 Surely every logical and sane person would find such a life appealing. Do you? Is Your Life Fulfilling?

Relationship with others “No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent.” The Bible teaches more than just “love one another”! Jn. 13:34-35; 1 Jn. 3:15-16 God shows us the kind of love we should have for others when He gave His Son: Rom. 5:8 We show this kind of love when we seek the best interests of others before our own: Phil. 2:3-4 This doesn’t mean we ignore the sins of others: Matt. 7:3-5; Gal. 6:1-2 We must demonstrate our love to others when they are in need: Matt. 25:31-46; 1 Jn. 3:17-18; Lk. 10:25-37 Is Your Life Fulfilling?

Is Your Life Fulfilling? CONCLUSION Do you desire true peace of mind, happiness and fulfillment? If so, you must restore your relationship with: God Self Fellow man Remember what Solomon learned? Eccl. 12:13-14 Life is short, death is certain, judgment is final and eternity is FOREVER! Is Your Life Fulfilling?
