Lesson 1: Show me the money! For starters… Make a list of the celebrities that have received the most press coverage over the past week. Extension: compare your list with a classmate’s and come up with a joint top 5. Lesson 1: Show me the money!

By the end of today, you will be able to define investment and return. explain why investment is important. come up with a basic investment strategy. Lesson 1: Show me the money!

Lesson 1: Show me the money! Your mission We will learn more about shares in future episodes. For now just imagine a share to be a small chunk of the celebrity! What does it mean to invest? Write a definition. Extension: many people say that education is an important investment. What do they mean? Do you agree? To make as much money as possible by investing imaginary money in celebrity shares. Lesson 1: Show me the money!

Investment? Return = money received – money spent Invest: to spend or devote now for future benefit. The difference between the money you get back and what you put in is called the return or profit. Over the next few weeks you’ll learn how to invest in celebrity shares. You’ll then be able to use these skills in the real world to make a real profit!
