Historical Conflict

What does Historical Conflict mean? In historical fiction, an author will write about important events that have had a significant impact on the people living during that time. Worldwide impact and is well-known. An impact on the future or on society (us). An experience or problem that changed society as a result.

How is Historical Fiction shown? In Historical Fiction, the conflict becomes known through one or more of the common types of conflict. Person vs. Self Person vs. Nature Person vs. Person Person vs. Society Person vs. Technology Person vs. the Unknown (fate, God, etc.) Person vs. Supernatural

Group Assignment In your groups, create a mini-poster about your historical fiction novel. Read the book synopsis and read a summary online about the book to identify the following elements: The title of the novel The historical time period of the novel A brief description of the historical conflict The type of common conflicts discussed throughout the book & how it might effect the character Arrange your findings in a graphic organizer format.
