King: ruled the kingdom Baron/noble: leased land from king, serve royal council, provide knights for war, pay taxes Knights: military, protect king & baron, leased land from barons Peasants: land from knights, provided food & service for higher classes, no rights, needed permission to marry

Henry VIII Lived 1491 – 1547 King of England from 1509-1547. Married Catherine of Aragon. Became interested in Anne Boleyn. Divorce not approved. Decided to start the Church of England (1530s).
Martin Luther, Henry VIII, and many others were important in the Protestant Reformation. Why might this reformation be important to people in European colonies? (write for 3 minutes)
