EOSLATP Portugal Report INSPEÇÃO-GERAL DA EDUCAÇÃO E CIÊNCIA EOSLATP Portugal Report (Ws 4b)

LOCAL WORK ORGANIZATION 1 (some notes) A team of 3 Inspectors led the project at national level: 2 in Lisboa + 1 in Porto Support of the Inspectorate Headship Communication among the team of Inspectors email / telephone / some meetings / knock knock 2

LOCAL WORK ORGANIZATION 2 (some notes) Late start in the Project Preparatory talks about our participation in the project (debate about concepts evaluation of leaders/leadership; evaluation of teachers/ teaching practice) First international mobility – training course in Ambleside 3

DISSEMINATION ACTIVITIES 1 On the website of the Portuguese Inspectorate of Education and Science (IGEC): - General information about the project EOSLATP - Newsletters - Outputs (English Version of the two Guides – Evaluation of School Leaders, Evaluation of Teaching Practice). - Link to the project website (hosted by the Basque Inspectorate)

DISSEMINATION ACTIVITIES 2 Internal disclosure: - Headship of the Inspectorate (Chief Inspector and Deputies) – regular meetings - Two meetings with Inspectors involved in the external evaluation of schools (approx. 25 inspectors in each meeting)

DISSEMINATION ACTIVITIES 3 Informal dissemination - The three Portuguese Inspectors, members of the EOSLATP Scientific Committee, have coordination responsibilities in the external evaluation of schools. Somehow the approaches and framework of the project are internally debated and considered for internal work.

DISSEMINATION ACTIVITIES 4 Planned Dissemination, starting in the second half of July: The Guide for the Evaluation of School Leaders was translated into Portuguese and the Guide for the Evaluation of Teaching Practice  will be translated in the coming weeks. Afterwards, it will be possible to disseminate these outputs to a broader public. So far, it is foreseen their dissemination to representatives of the ‘School Council’ (National Association of School Directors), Association of Directors of Public School Clusters, a Teacher Training Centre

EVALUATION AND IMPACT 1 Evaluation from the perspective of the 3 inspectors Positive: New inputs and insights brought about by the international cooperation with a diversity of partners and expertise. Use of such know-how in internal work and external cooperation. A stimulous for debate within the involved or the visited institutions

EVALUATION AND IMPACT 2 Evaluation from the perspective of the 3 inspectors Not so positive (self-criticism): Due to several reasons - external to the project – the approaches of the PT team were mostly reactive. Nevertheless, the team always made efforts to accomplish with deadlines and assignments.

PROJECT SUSTAINABILITY Availability on IGEC website for a period of time. Internal disclosure of the outputs (PT version). Disclosure of the Guides and Moodle Courses among key organizations. Possible continuity of the international cooperation.
