“Love, Not Hate” The Anti-Defamation League Transmedia Storytelling Final Project Kim Bosco

Organization and Rationale http://www.adl.org/about-adl/ Mission statement: “To stop the defamation of Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment for all” and has also evolved to prevent “all forms of bigotry, defend democratic ideals and protect civil rights for ALL” I chose this organization for “Love, Not Hate” because my project is intended to spread love and denounce the racism and bigotry that is present in our society post-election. From personal POV’s, it represents the voice of the people as well. http://www.adl.org/action-center/ The ADL Advocacy Center on their website is the perfect place to house this project This is the logo I used for “Love, Not Hate”. It was originally created for the ADL No Place for Hate project which promotes the denouncement of bias and hate in schools

“Love, Not Hate” My mission statement: To promote the love and acceptance of all colors, cultures, and religions within American society, following the growing instances of hate that have been occurring since the election of Trump This project provides anyone and everyone an outlet for their voice and opinions on this issue of national concern. By using human stories, it will create a sense of realness and intimacy that people can relate to, that will hopefully get them involved to make a change for the better as well It is both for the people and by the people, if they choose to engage on one of the platforms

The Story Beginning: The protests and hate crimes that began immediately after Trumps election How the strong emotions and fears surrounding Trump’s presidency are manifesting themselves Examples of hate crimes (video) to give the audience an idea of why this is important and needs to be discussed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsjzB3ilx9Y&t=3s YouTube provides an aggregated source for information for a basis of understanding, can watch other videos, can comment

The Story cont. Middle: (The essence of the story) The personal testimonies of individuals https://www.instagram.com/lovenothateadl/ Instagram provides visuals, emotional connection, can comment and follow page, can post and hash tag

Cont. End: Proposals in the form of tweets Where do we go from here? How do we #CombatHate Can be from interviewed and from participating audience members Twitter provides the opportunity to add your voice to the conversation, can comment, tweet, hash tag, follow account An easy place to start a larger discussion

Platforms The platforms are all linked to each other with hyperlinks and hash tags #CombatHate and #antidefamationleague Every post on all platforms are tagged so they can all be tied together in one, consistent story Also makes it easier for people to find and flow into other platforms They can possibly be based out of ADL Advocacy Center, that’s where the story would start ideally

Expansion and Analytics The essence of this story and project is really part of something that has the potential to become a larger movement With more likes and views, more exposure, hopefully, Love Not Hate can reach a huge audience The desired outcome is make people think, participate, and make a change in the way we treat each other Measure of success: Views (YouTube, Instagram) Likes (All Platforms) Shares (All platforms) Comments (All platforms)
