Los Requisitos (requirements) Mis vacaciones Los Requisitos (requirements)

La meta (the goal) To demonstrate understanding of vocabulary To demonstrate understanding of preterite tense To communicate in written form (Presentational) To demonstrate reading comprehension of another student’s presentation (Interpretive) To demonstrate ability to ask questions about another student’s presentation (Interpersonal)

What? *You may need to look up specific words related to your vacation Create a presentation about your activities during vacation or summer break. Incorporate vacation vocabulary* and preterite tense

How? : In class on Wednesday, you will create a vacation brochure, scrapbook, photo album, diary, etc. about a vacation A minimum of 5 pictures with detailed descriptions in Spanish Use the 2 rubrics to guide you *You may use more than 5 pictures to “show off” your use of vocabulary and preterite!

To prepare: You will need to bring at least 5 vacation pictures to class on Wednesday - you may use copies of your past family vacations, clip art, pictures from the Internet, original artwork, etc. Decide what format you would like. I will provide white paper, markers, colored pencils, glue, scissors. If you need extra materials for your project, you will need to bring them to class or prepare ahead of time.

For the in-class Presentational Assessment You will have 1 hour to individually create your project in class. You may not use any notes, vocabulary lists, or Internet resources. You will create a personalized presentation your vacation using your pictures and rubrics as a guideline.

Interpretive (exchange of questions & answers / comparing vacations with your partner) For the remaining ½ hour, you will exchange presentations and complete 3 Interpersonal activities. Parte A. Interpersonal Assessment Before you read about your partner’s vacation, write 3 questions using preterite tense (tú) to ask about their trip. Think about: What do you want to know about the places they might have visited, the activities they might have done, or with whom they have traveled? Modelo: Did you go to your grandparent’s house?

Parte B. Interpretive Assessment Now read your partner’s presentation about his/ her vacation and answer the following questions in English: Where did this person go? What are 4 things that this person did? a. b. c. d. Who was this person with/ what are their relationships to one another? What was their overall impression of the trip? What evidence (phrases/ words) can you find to support your answer?

Parte C. Interpersonal Assessment Based upon what you have read about your partner’s presentation, now look at your 3 questions in Part A. Answer your questions using the preterite tense (he/she/they). Modelo: No, Eric did not go to his grandparent’s house. He went to the beach.

Assessment Grade 40 points Based on performance assessment rubrics (Presentational and Interpersonal) 32 points Your reading comprehension 8 points

Tarea: Find pictures for your presentation and bring them to class on Wednesday. Bring any extra materials you may need. Questions?
