Strategy: Vocabulary Swap GOAL: Exposure and practice with challenging vocabulary words in a fun, engaging way STUDENT ROLE: Choose words they find challenging out of a story read with the class and create a game using them. Some tips To maximize student experience while playing the game, here are a few tips: Remind children to use synonyms that are more simple and more common (therefore easier to recognize) for the Synonym Lifeline. For the Context Clue Lifeline, perhaps have children use the sentence in the book where the word occurs. Children can refer to their “Chapter Word List” worksheet in order to find the page where the word in question is.
