Introduction to the Library Catalogue - GeoWeb Where can I access to it? How do I get in?

Where can I access to it? You can access to the library catalogue through library homepage. Click at Library Catalogue OR you also can click at the icons on the right to ‘Login to GeoWeb’

Searching functions To locate items that have one or more keywords in the record. You can browse through an alphabetical list of headings by entering: * The first few words of a heading for titles. * The surname must be first for the authors, followed by the first name/initial.         

How do I get in? Click on “Login to GeoWeb”

Click on the drop down menu to see the search options Keyword Searching Click on the drop down menu to see the search options When you click at Search icon, the catalogue open to Simple Keyword Search screen

Title Search Type the title directly into the search box Select title from the drop down menu After you type in the title and select Title from the drop down menu, then Click at the Submit Search button

Search Result Click on the selected book title to view full record. The catalogue record provide brief information about location of the book. To view full record, please click on the selected book title.

The book record The catalogue record provide information about the book You can click at the Subjects to get list of titles that cover the same subject The book title The catalogue record provide book call number information that will help you to find the book on the shelf. The call number is the book’s address on the shelf. The call number is printed on the label on the book. The author The publisher’s name and year Status of the availability of the book in the library A summary of the book’s content

Click on the drop down menu to see the search option Browse Searching When you click at the Browse Searching icon, the catalogue open to Browse Click on the drop down menu to see the search option

Title Search Type the title into the Browse box Select Title from the drop down menu After you type in the title and select Title from the drop down menu, then Click at the Submit Search button

Browse Result Click at the title in BOLD color if it is the book that you are looking for if not you can browse through the lists to select other book

Select author from the drop down menu Author Searching You can search to look for the name of the person who wrote the book you want through Keyword Searching or Browse Searching. Here, we do Author Search using Browse Searching When you click at the Browse Searching icon, the catalogue open to Browse Search screen Type in the name of the author in the Search Box. You MUST type in the author LAST NAME then follow by the SURNAME. Eg: McTaggart, Douglas Ray, Martyn S. Shakepeare, William Select author from the drop down menu After you type in the author last name and select AU:Author from the drop down menu, then click at Submit Search Button

Selecting the Author Click at the author in BOLD color if it is the author that you are looking for if not you can browse through the lists to select other author The number stated in the bracket indicates the number of book/s by the author

The book record Click on Library Holdings to see library has how many copy This book accompany with CD-ROM The status Available means this item/ book is available on the shelf The book’s call number

CURTIN LUTONG OPEN means this book is shelves at the OPEN COLLECTION The library holdings This book is available on the library’s shelf. CURTIN LUTONG CD-ROM means this item accompany with CD-ROM and available at AV COLLECTION. For item at AV COLLECTION, you need to consult library staff at the Information and Circulation Counter for assistant. CURTIN LUTONG OPEN means this book is shelves at the OPEN COLLECTION
