Ensure that athletic programs compliment and support the school’s educational mission. Establish and enforce appropriate standards of conduct for athletes, coaches, parents, and other spectators. Contribute to the overall development of our student athletes through participation in our athletic programs.

Besides regular communication about practice times & schedules, this includes team & players’ expectations, and individual player roles. If a concern or issue arises about an athlete’s role on the team, the following steps should be followed: Athlete and coach(es) discuss situation. If situation isn’t resolved, parent makes arrangements to speak with coach. If situation not resolved in Step 2, a meeting may be arranged with the coach and Athletic Director. The coaching staff should not be approached to discuss these situations immediately after a game (unless this is an agreed to arrangement in Step 2).

Notre Dame Athletics Department Fall Parents Meeting 7/4/2018 4:00 PM Notre Dame Athletics Department Fall Parents Meeting Sportsmanship Sportsmanship is an important part of participating in Notre Dame athletic programs. The highest standards for proper behavior shall be maintained at all times. These apply to student-athletes, coaches, parents, and other spectators. Everyone involved with our athletic program is expected to treat others with respect & courtesy at all times, be a positive role model, and exhibit principles that represent good sportsmanship. Cheering and/or making comments about other schools, coaches, student- athletes, or refs & game officials shall always be done in a positive manner. Any spectator not meeting the sportsmanship behavior standards will be removed from the event. Repeat offenses will result in a person being banned from attending future events. Any student-athlete failing to meet these standards may be removed from her team and prevented from participating in future activities.

Notre Dame Athletics Department Fall Parents Meeting 7/4/2018 4:00 PM Notre Dame Athletics Department Fall Parents Meeting General Information The Academy of Notre Dame is a member of the InterAc League of schools (both HS and MS), and the Catholic Academies League for MS. Refer to the Parent-Athlete Handbook, located on the school website ( ND website / Athletic Dept / Parent Information tab ) Athletic Department Hotline number is: 610-971-4905 (follow prompts) Equipment and bags should be dropped off each morning at Launfal (in designated locker rooms). “Impact” concussion testing is given to all students and student-athletes. The baseline test is good for two (2) years. New baseline tests needed for student athletes are typically done during pre-season. All students are required to take and pass an online Concussion and Cardiac test in order for them to participate. The test is good for one school year. The Athletic Training Room, for Spring sports, is located in Launfal (end room closest to the mansion).

ND website (www.ndapa.org), then to Athletics page, and “2016-2017 Athletic Fee” Athletic fee payment is required for participation (including pre-season) Participation requires having a valid physical on file with the athletic department (includes pre-season). Turn forms in to the athletic department. Attendance: Students absent from school shall not participate in athletic activities that day (practice or play). Students must be in school by 9:00am, in order to participate. If a student is late due to a medical appointment, a doctor’s note must be provided upon sign-in.
