Prof. José-Fernán Martinez Universidad Politécnica de Madrid Aggregate Farming in the Cloud   Prof. José-Fernán Martinez Universidad Politécnica de Madrid jf.martinez@upm.es

MAIN GOAL To make the creation, planning and execution of farm labours much easier, optimal and ecological/cost-efficiently, doing the “precision farming” a viable option for new and existing industries based on an integrated and cooperative smart ecosystem of autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles, complex sensing technologies and intervention mechanisms. Industrial application domains: Crop management for soil and growth monitoring, illness detection and precise intervention in: Horticulture Vineyards Fodder Livestock management for health and feeding monitoring, tracking, position and precise intervention in: Dairy and beef cattle Herd of pigs Chicken farms Validation and testing : Spain, Italy, Finland, Latvia

KEY SELLINGS POINTS & CHALLENGES Internet of Plants and Internet of Animals Semantic context-based distribution / integration of tasks Autonomous/semi-autonomous vehicles, sensors / actuators: farming as a service Verification and validation in real world scenarios Sensing + Acting on the move Optimal cooperative task planning

CURRENT INTERESTED PARTNERS (from 14 countries) PARTNERS Research: Communication & Vision, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Networking, Mechatronics, Automation and Control. Industry: Aerial and Ground Robot, Farm machinery & Vehicle manufacturers, System integrators, Software development, Technology providers and Certifiers. End users: By the moment, we have three demonstration scenarios available. However, new pilots providing an important added value to the project are welcome.

Your presentation needs to include: Please stay close to the theme of the session It is a technical conference, please focus on technical topics from your project(s) State the technological challenge Indicate the state-of-the-art in industry on this topic Present the technical solution and compare it to the state-of-the-art Provide application examples of the technology Indicate the technological challenges that are still to be tackled in the future
