English Language June 2018 Paper 1: 1 Hour 45 Mins, 80 Marks, 50% of the GCSE Section A Reading: Unseen Literary Extract to read. 4 Questions to answer Section B Writing: Descriptive or Narrative Writing. 1 Question to answer   Paper 2: 1 Hour 45 Mins, 80 Marks, 50% of the GCSE Section A Reading: 2 Unseen Non-Fiction Texts. 4 Questions to answer Section B Writing: Writing to present a viewpoint (argue, persuade, advise). 1 Question to answer

GCSE English Language Ways to support your child’s success: Encouraging Reading – not just books! Asking questions and developing oral responses. Quizzing and testing – key terminology/concepts. Investing in revision guides/workbooks. Encouraging timed written response to exam questions/tasks. Asking for your child’s help with ‘real life’ writing.
