You’ve never been to his/her hometown. You start the conversation. Ask him/her what happened and why it was terrible.

You didn’t hear your alarm clock and you got up late, so you missed the bus. When you come to work, your friend says that the boss wants to see you. Tell your boss that you are really sorry for being late Tell your boss why you are late. Say what happened next. Tell him/her that you missed the bus and you got on the wrong bus. Say you feel really bad about it and finish the conversation. You are the boss and one of your workers is late for work for two hours. Your worker says that she/he is really sorry for being late and she/he says the reason. However, you are unhappy with the situation. Show interest and ask follow-up questions. Ask him/her what happened, where she/he was, what she/he did, and what happened finally. Show him/her that you aren’t happy with the situation. Tell him/her that she/he shouldn’t be late for work again.
