ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN ARLINGTON HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN Assistant Principal of Athletics: Marc Dubuisson Facility: JV/V Baseball Fields, JV/V Softball, Stadium, Gym Call 911 for all medical emergencies. If an individual is unresponsive and not breathing normally, begin CPR. ACTIVATING EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES Call 911 and provide the following information: Identify your emergency (Be specific as possible ex: level of consciousness, broken bones, bleeding, etc.) YOUR name and telephone number from which you are calling Address: 2951 JACKSON ST. Riverside, CA 92503 Location: Arlington High School Stadium or Baseball/Softball Field Directions: located at the corner of Lincoln and Jackson. Emergency vehicles can either access fields via the service road off of Jackson Street parking lot near softball field or Lincoln next to tennis courts.. Other information as told by the first responder. DO NOT HANG UP unless operator tells you to do so. EMERGENCY RESPONSE PERSONNEL Certified Athletic Trainer – Lexi Iza First Responder & Situation Control Supervising Coach /Administrator Activate EMS Crowd Control & Parent Retrieval IF THE ATHLETIC TRAINER IS UNAVAILABLE IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SUPERVISING COACH TO ACTIVATE EMS AND FOLLOW FIRST AID AND CPR PROTOCOLS UNTIL EMERGENCY MEDICAL PERSONNEL ARRIVES. EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION Assistant Principal of Athletics: (951) 505-2989 Marc Dubuisson Certified Athletic Trainer: (626) 367-6903 Lexi Iza ENTRANCE GYM BASEBALL/SOFTBALL FIELDS STADIUM HEAT INDEX POLICY AND HEAT RELATED INJURIES A heat index monitor will be used to determine whether conditions are within acceptable levels for participation in physical activities. Based on the heat index the following activities are permitted or limited to: Heat index of 105 to 130 – no athletic practices or athletic events will be permitted Heat index of 90 to 104 – outdoor physical activity should be restricted to allow frequent breaks in the shade, frequent water breaks, minimize heavy exertion in the direct sun Students showing signs of heat exhaustion should be moved to an air conditioned/cool location immediately and be given cold water or a sports drink. If unsure of what to do, call 911 immediately. Signs of heat exhaustion include: Headache Dizziness, light-headedness or feeling faint Weakness/fatigue Heavy sweating Muscle pains/cramps Nausea
