Daily Math Skills Practice Number of the Day Daily Math Skills Practice

Is this number PRIME or COMPOSITE? A PRIME number has exactly 2 factors. A COMPOSITE number has 3 or more factors. 3 is prime because it has exactly two factors 1 and itself (3) 12 is prime because it has 3 or more factors 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12.

List all the FACTORS of this number. FACTORS are numbers you can multiply together to get another number. Example: 2 and 3 are factors of 6, because 2 x 3 = 6.

List the first 5 Multiples of this number. A MULTIPLE of a number is the product of that number and any other whole number. Example 12 is a multiple of 3, because 3 x 4 = 12 So, the first five multiples of 3 are: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15

How many days of school are LEFT? There are a total of 180 days. LEFT (Subtraction) On Day 4 there are 176 days left. 180-4 = 176

MULTIPLY the number of days we’ve been in school by the number of days we have left. On day 5… 175 x 5 = 875

DIVIDE 180 by the number of days we’ve been in school. On Day 5… 180 divided by 5 = 36

What FRACTION of the year do we have left? Example: # of days left PART Total # of days WHOLE

What fraction of the year has passed? Example: # of days we’ve been in school Total # of days of school
