Pupil Expectations Time keeping - be on time for breakfast and check points throughout the day General Conduct – appropriate behaviour and language at all times If there are any issues with behaviour, the group leader reserves the right to ‘ground’ a pupil, and in the most severe case, send pupils home at the parents expense There is a pupil Code of Conduct that both parents and pupils have to read and sign

Keeping in Contact We will use the schools Twitter account to post updates and photos of our escapades where possible Both hotels offer free Wi-Fi, so pupils will be able to access the internet. If they use their data/make calls then they are responsible for all charges Each pupil will be given an emergency contact card – The group leader will have the mobile and they can call that mobile at any point.

Spending Money Staff are not responsible for pupil spending money We are recommending that pupils get a travel money card rather than bring all their money in cash Pupils may bring an additional card in case of an emergency and the group leader will keep this If a pupil brings dollars only (not recommended), they would be advised to bring TWO WALLETS, clearly labelled, leaving one in the groups safe deposit box, which we will hire, when going out for the day

Shopping On the last evening we will go to the mall where pupils will get a chance to do some shopping Pupils should be aware that if they do buy items to bring home it will be their responsibility to ensure they fit in their suitcase and if they go over the luggage limit they will need to pay excess charges Many items are no longer cheaper in the USA!

Rooms Rooming arrangements have not yet been made Before pupils go off on study leave they will be asked who they want to share a room with, and we will arrange final room allocation out closer to the time of travel. We will try to accommodate pupil requests as best possible Any issues with friendship groups, please inform group leader Tipping – We will cover the tips at meal times, however, pupils are asked to tip $2 per person per day for the hotel cleaning staff Pupils will also be responsible for any damages to the rooms.

Passports We would like to take a photocopy of everyone’s passport tonight. Please let us know if this is not possible. Pupils will keep their own passports until they pass through security in the USA The group leader will then keep the passports in the hotel security safe. Passports will be returned to the pupils when we get to the airport at Washington DC for check in.

Medical/Dietary Please make us aware of any dietary requirements, so we can ensure the meals on the flights are suitable and make any restaurants aware of any specific dietary needs Medication – any prescribed medication should be given to the group leader in advance of the trip. Pupils should also carry prescribed medications where appropriate e.g. epipen Staff will not provide any non prescription medications to any pupils e.g. paracetamol, ibuprofen etc.
