Presentation transcript:

Every child deserves a great teacher WELCOME ‘AN EDUCATION SYSTEM IS ONLY AS GOOD AS ITS TEACHER TRAINING’ – EDUCATION FOR ALL, 2014 Our vision Every child deserves a great teacher Our mission We create an empowered community global community of teachers by leading engaging and inspiring teacher training.

WHY DO WE DO IT? A GLOBAL CHALLENGE Limited initial teacher training Teacher shortages and low quality education leads to high student drop-out rates Limited initial teacher training A lack of in-service teacher training A third of teachers are untrained or have received little training. Rapid population growth means demand for teachers isn’t met by the limited capacity of their teaching. In-service teacher training is very rare and nearly always externally run rather than being integrated into school life. The result is didactic low-quality teaching.

HOW WILL YOU BENEFIT? A LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE On an LRTT Fellowship you will get to observe and coach teachers through improvements to their practice whilst leading sessions on modern pedagogy MEET SOME INSPIRING EDUCATORS PRACTICAL INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT Working with a local education organisation, you will get to experience what international development looks like at the grassroots level. Most of our Fellows value the experience to reflect on their own practice and make a new network of educators both at home and abroad.
