‘Going to the breast clinic’ After a breast test you will get a letter which may ask you to come back for further tests You will need to go to a Breast Test Wales breast clinic Don’t worry It may not mean you have cancer But it does mean you may need more tests to decide if it is cancer or not

What is Cancer? Cancer is a very serious illness which could get worse if it is not treated There are different types of cancer Lots of people who get breast cancer get better but some people may die

Why do I have to go to the clinic? If there is a serious problem with your breast it can make you very ill You must go for your test as soon as you can You can visit the clinic first if you want to To arrange this phone Breast Test Wales

Feeling Worried You may feel worried or frightened about coming back to the breast clinic That is ok but remember it is important that you go ! Talking to your friend, support worker, family member or doctor may help Or you can phone Breast Test Wales to speak to a nurse who will try and help you

Where do I have to go? Your test will be done at a Breast Test Wales clinic There are 4 clinics in Wales Llandudno Wrexham Cardiff Swansea Llandudno Wrexham Cardiff Swansea

Who will I meet? When you go there you will meet lots of people: A Receptionist who will book you in A Radiographer who takes the x ray A Nurse who will answer your questions A Doctor who will examine you

What will the receptionist ask me? The Receptionist will ask: Your name and address Your date of birth (birthday) Your telephone number You can then sit down and wait

What if I don’t want to go? That’s ok, it’s your choice! You might want to visit the centre before you have your assessment test Or you can phone Breast Test Wales and speak to a nurse who will try and help you

Can I bring someone with me? You can bring a friend, support worker or family member Bring the letter we sent you

What if I have trouble getting there? If you have trouble getting to the centre: Telephone Breast Test Wales They may be able to help
