RIP October 24, 2005 - March 29, 2017 NA62 IS ALIVE http://www.cheatswithdino.com/2016/09/club-penguin-updates-today-september-28-2016.html

ANGULAR CUTS Momentum cut vs angular cut for run 6687 (target is in), which is taken because of the newly reconstructed data for this run. However, this did not eliminate any tracks, and we’re not sure why, so I’ve moved on.

RING IMAGING CHERENKOV COUNTER (RICH) https://na62.web.cern.ch/na62/DetectorBeam/RICH.html The RICH is a detector that improves the background rejection of K+->mu+nu+ decays. It’s filled with neon gas and it’s roughly cylindrical, but it’s less wide downstream where the mirrors are (such that the tracks produce Cherenkov light) (hence the name). It works to provide positive identification of the muons in the background, but can identify pions in signal events. For us right now, the ability to identify the muon background is of importance to us.

RICH HITS BASED OFF ANGLE ϴ I also made a TEfficiency, but I wasn’t sure how to interpret it yet or if it’s even correct, so I didn’t include it here. Tracks that reach the spectrometer vs tracks that reach the RICH within a certain time difference.

CURRENT GOAL: assess the RICH track recognition capability X Z SPECTROMETERS (4) RICH CURRENT GOAL: assess the RICH track recognition capability

NEXT STEPS: hit probability may depend on the fraction of RICH traversed, as well as the charge WE’LL FIND OUT https://twitter.com/laogn/status/857013334280998913
