What this is… As Spring approaches, we (staff) wanted to reach out more about summer opportunities and businesses that may be hiring. Each week in advisory, if there is time, we’ll show this PowerPoint and allow students to take notes or ask questions. This PowerPoint will also be posted on the WIKI each week as well- if you see something that looks neat, look it up on the WIKI tonight!

Week of 3/20 One Summer Chicago - opened up their application for 2017 summer. - 30,000 internships/jobs. Last year 77K applied for 31K opportunities meaning alums need to apply ASAP to receive an offer/interview. https://www.onesummerchicago.org/

Week of 3/20 Navy Pier Job Fair Thursday, March 23 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Crystal Gardens. The job fair will feature opportunities with Navy Pier, Inc. and its pier-wide partners in retail, restaurants and attractions. Please note that most opportunities are for seasonal work through the summer of 2017. Interested individuals must register to attend the job fair. Please bring multiple copies of your resume. Week of 3/20 Forest Preserve District of Cook County is hiring for a variety of seasonal roles for this summer. Summer Internship Opportunity for High School Students The Chicago Summer Business Institute (CSBI) is seeking high school sophomores and juniors who are interested in careers in investment banking, accounting, asset management, government, information technology, and architecture/engineering. CSBI offers a six-week internship program providing hands-on experience working with top companies, non-profit agencies, and local government offices located in the Loop business district.
