GENRE/STYLE/TONE Suburban crime thriller In the style of ___________ and __________ Tonally dark with moments of humour and pathos and violence. The idea of family is at its core – what defines family, what will you do to protect family.

THE PREMISE Expand on the fundamental concept that drives the plot Walter lives in suburban Phoenix, he works as a chemistry teacher, but also has to work another job to support his pregnant wife and handicapped child. When he’s diagnosed with inoperable cancer he keeps it a secret and begins making meth with a former student. His wife’s brother is a drug enforcement sheriff, he’s never done anything criminal before, but he sees this as the only way to secure his family’s financial future. We follow this good man doing bad things for noble reasons, as his life is slowly, irrevocably changed by the new and dangerous world he must now operate in.

COMMUNITY Outline the key characters Walter, his wife, his son, the student, the brother in law, the central criminal etc Show images.
