Introduction How would you like to grow, learn, and get to know the other students in your class. Well today we will be putting together a garden. As the teacher I’ll be the Gardner and you all are the spouts. We’re gong to put a picture of you and your favorite fruits and vegetables all in a pot.

Task Your task is to decorate a clay plant pot with crayon’s and/or markers Glue a picture of yourself to the tip of the popsicle stick Sculpt with play dough and/or clay of your favorite fruits and vegetables Once done put the fruits and vegetables in the pot and have the popsicle stick with your picture on it glued to the inside, so it will not tilt or fall out of your pot Finally you will present the pot you have created in class to the rest of the students

Process Here is the website to the Lesson plan http://www.crayola.com/lesson-plans/detail/a- garden-of-learners-lesson-plan/ If you are having a hard time figuring out what fruits and vegetables you like or need help on what they look like try these websites. http://www.botanical- online.com/frutoscarnososangles.htm http://www.fruit-vegetable.info/alphabetical- list-of-content.htm

Process Continued Need some help on what kind of design you’d like to make on your clay pot? Well here’s a helpful site to go to for help http://www.favecrafts.com/Decorating-Ideas/How-to- Decorate-Clay-Pots# If you’d like to know more about healthy choices for foods you could always view a food pyramid as I have provided one website for you http://www.mypyramid.gov/
