Injection Molding Brian Bullecks
What is Injection molding? Injection molding is process that takes polymers usually in pellet form and produces a finished product.
Many Products
What plastics? Everything from HDPE, HIPS, Delrin to specialized composites like glass reinforced nylon or polymers loaded with graphite for conductivity. There’s task specific polymers etc etc.
The Equipment The injection molding machine is basically 2 parts. The injection unit and the clamp/mold.
How does it work? The melting process of the polymer pellets is roughly the same as that in an extruder.
The Screw
The mold High pressure injection molding So where’s the mold?
