METER READING SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF DANIA BEACH Mandatory Pre-Proposal Conference CITY RFP NO. 16-001 January 29, 2016

SYNOPSIS The City currently has approximately 4,800 water and irrigation meters Currently reads performed manually with in-house staff The City may pursue automated touch pad reads later on (no target date)

SYNOPSIS cont. City will furnish necessary devices to perform its function ITRON Handhelds, FC300 & MV-RS Software The City wishes to maintain the use of its own current hardware and software The City will be responsible for the uploading and downloading of the hand-held meter reading devices.

SYNOPSIS cont. City will provide the meter reading schedule and Contractor shall maintain this schedule in order to maintain the billing cycle Any routes not completed the previous day will be re-issued by the City the next day

Current Sample Billing Route The City bills the utility customers for each Cycle the first full week of each month for their respective route. Read dates are approximately 28-32 days between billing cycles each month to allow for customer consistency in billing. Readings for February billing cycles commenced on January 6, 2016, with the assumption of reading 2 routes per day. The reading calendar is adjusted for holidays in which the City is not open The City is looking to achieve efficiencies in its reading process and would consider flexibility in the read dates as long as the utility customer is not adversely affected.
