Way the US Helped: Toke over for their own good: The US helped them by helping the people revolting in the Philippines and ultimately bought the Philippines from the Spanish. Toke over for their own good: Philippines didn’t get their independence until 1946, even though they began fighting for their independence before the US bought them.

Way the US Helped the Philippines: The United States gained the Philippines in December 1898for $20 million and gave them their indenpendce, which was what they were fighting for the whole time, in 1946. Toke over the Philippines for their own good: On May 1, 1898, George Dewey sank the entire Spanish fleet, which was 400 Spanish soldiers, at Manila Bay in the Philippines.

Way the US Toke over the Philippines for their own good: The Filipino people, led by Emilio Aguinaldo, renewed their fight for independence after the U.S. bought the Philippines for $20 million. Toke over the Philippines for their own good: Commodore George Dewey quickly provisioned his ships and set off to attack the Spanish colony in the Philippines.

Way the US Toke over the Philippines for their own good: The Americans lost 4,000 people while the Filipinos lost 20,000. Toke over the Philippines for their own good: In 1901, Emilio Aguinaldo was captured and the Philippines’ fight for independence was stopped.
